time to drop a brutally honest ‘T’ bomb on US lawmakers on his Twitter:

::children get gunned down at a school::

::trans person uses the bathroom::

— Saladin Ahmed (@saladinahmed) March 24, 2016

Other Twitter users had also jumped in with their own interpretations of the hypocrisy of US politics:

@saladinahmed@ibrill [While lobbying to let children carry handguns]: “Please smoke outside, think about public health!”

— Mickey B (@Buck__Mild) March 24, 2016

@saladinahmed@stevelibrarian Therefore, we need more guns in bathrooms to protect children. #totallylogical

— Andy (@wawoodworth) March 24, 2016

@saladinahmed@arthur_affect children & guns don’t need legislation but trans person does.

— Michael_Rose (@Michael_Rose) March 25, 2016

@saladinahmed bro schools shootings are staged, trans bathroom rapers are all too real

@saladinahmed hey now those are good mass child killers not like those level people just living there lives

@saladinahmed North America is way past the point of unintentional self-parody. It’s into post-absurdity absurdity.

— Ario Barzan (@Doshmanziari) March 24, 2016

@saladinahmed I’m head-desking right now seen years of study being flushed down the toilet coz manbabies can’t move to the future.

— Blood Hawk (@BloodHawk5) March 24, 2016

@saladinahmed Well yeah, gun control would require actual personal sacrifice except not really

With this change in North Carolina’s legislation, local governments in the state may enact ordinances that would allow discrimination against any LGBTQ person, like banning transgender people from using the restrooms that match their gender identities.

Governor McCrory followed up on his decision and tweeted his reasons for the repeal:

I signed bipartisan legislation to stop the breach of basic privacy and etiquette, ensure privacy in bathrooms and locker rooms.

— Pat McCrory (@PatMcCroryNC) March 24, 2016

Ordinance defied common sense, allowing men to use women’s bathroom/locker room for instance. That’s why I signed bipartisan bill to stop it

— Pat McCrory (@PatMcCroryNC) March 24, 2016

In essence:

In response to Governor McCrory, a transgender man cleverly tweeted about the irony of the situation with a picture of himself, saying the following:

@PatMcCroryNC It’s now the law for me to share a restroom with your wife. #HB2#trans#NorthCarolina#shameonNCpic.twitter.com/4b4OdmfmeN

This has been an especially tough week for the transgender community worldwide, with news coming from China about a transgender man being fired for wearing men’s clothes to work, an order by Indonesian authorities for beauty parlors to dismiss all openly transgender employees, as well as Kansas state proposing to sabotage transgender students at school.

However, let’s continue to stand by all transgender men and women, boys and girls, in every part of the world.

Let’s press on and keep working together as one people, to equality and beyond for all.
